I've come to discover even major placement companies are scraping the bottom of the barrel placing me because of my credentials and lack of quantifiable experience. I declined to do this (on account of being completely broke at the time and unable to show up to their workplace with no gas in the car) and was given the strong impression I'd been blackballed.
